3-D Service Named Authorized Distributor and Installer for AEGIS WTG Wind Turbine Grounding Ring

3-D Service recently announced its authorization by Electro Static Technology as a distributor and installer for their AEGIS WTG™ Wind Turbine Bearing Protection Rings™.  A division of Magnetech Industrial Services, 3-D Service is authorized to sell and install the bearing protection rings for wind applications in the continental United States, including Alaska, and in Canada.  3-D Service provides up-tower and in-shop wind power service for all brands of wind turbine equipment including comprehensive inspections; filter and lubricant replacement; bearing and slip ring replacement; coupling and gearbox service; balancing and alignment; predictive maintenance, and equipment repair and remanufacturing.

The AEGIS WTG™ is specially engineered to protect wind generator bearings.  Induced shaft voltages in wind turbine generators cause high frequency currents in bearings resulting in pitting, fluting and premature bearing failure. The AEGIS WTG Bearing Protection Ring channels the voltages away from the bearings to ground ensuring greater system reliability and up time.  Engineered for any size wind turbine generator, the split ring design can be installed up-tower by 3-D Service during bearing replacements or during other routine maintenance or while the generator is in their shop for refurbishment.

“We’re very excited to have this agreement with EST-AEGIS,” said Mike White, Product Line Manager of Wind Services for 3-D Service.  “The AEGIS WTG product aligns with our vision to bring value-added products and services to our wind customers.  The AEGIS generator shaft grounding system helps keep our customers generating revenue while reducing long term maintenance costs associated with bearings and slip rings.”

A division of Illinois Tool Works, Inc., Electro Static Technology is the global leader in the elimination and/or mitigation of induced electrical charges on rotating and moving surfaces. Electro Static Technology (EST) manufactures the patented AEGIS conductive microfiber shaft grounding ring for electric motors, rotating equipment, power generators and wind turbine generators.
